3 Options For Satellite TV

We all know Satellite TV has been around forever. However, watching satellite TV on our personal computers is an idea that only appeared several years ago. But at that time, it seemed that only the young people (the computer geeks in particular) were able to really watch television on the PC. Fortunately, this is not the case anymore. More and more people of all ages begin to understand the real power of internet and technology, and clicking on some buttons is not considered so difficult anymore. Installing and using satellite TV software is now exactly as trivial as it should be, so everyone is invited to hop aboard. Let me tell you why watching satellite TV on PC is better than using a classic "20th century" dish system. Let's make a comparison.

The Dish System If you use the satellite dish system, you will need a self-assembled satellite dish, or maybe you will call the people from Dish Network to install it. The cost? Probably more than 200$ for the self assembled dish - and that's not all. You also need to buy the set up kit (I don't remember the price at the moment) Some people will of course be willing to additionally buy other accessories like the basic dish, receiver, mount etc etc. Obviously, the caption range of the dish will limit your number of channels (the dish can only "see" signals that come from above, and it depends on its design to have a wider (or narrower) range. Usually the dishes will let you enjoy about 15 channels at most. The good part: after the installation, you will watch TV for free for the rest of your life. The not so good part: the number of channels is pretty low, and the installation does cost a substantial amount of money.

Satellite TV Services Here, you don't have to worry about installation costs, because the company will do that for you for free. Nevertheless, you need to buy some necessary devices like the dish, HDTV and DVR receivers, and so on. The lowest price for all these things combined will revolve around $80 to $100. You get to watch hundreds of channels, the number depending on which package you choose when you sign your contract. You are also offered interesting options like pay-per-view or pay TV for live games. But... you will need to cover a monthly bill. Oh well, nobody is perfect, right?

Satellite TV on PC Right! Nobody is perfect. But this third option is not too far from perfect (if you'll excuse my enthusiasm). Let's see now. Satellite TV on PC means the following:

1. You can watch TV anytime you want

2. You can watch TV anywhere you want (take your laptop to a bar in Poland, open your wireless connection, have a drink and watch the game)

3. You have access to thousands of channels

4. No extra payments (installation kits and such)

5. Everything is perfectly legal

There you have it. Me, I chose the third option, and I'm glad I did. I love the 21st century, don't you?
